Shari was born in August 22, 1951 in Cresco, Iowa (the 6th of 12 children) and grew up working with the rest of the family on the family farm. She learned the valuable lessons of hard work and sacrifice during her formative years. She graduated from Crestwood High School in Cresco, Iowa in 1969, worked at St. Mary’s in Rochester, MN while training to be licensed practical nurse. After moving to Arizona, she completed her training to be a registered nurse and worked at Tucson Medical Center for 38 years. Although she lived in Arizona all of her adult life she was always proud of her origins in Iowa. She dedicated her entire adult life to service of others. She was a positive influence on her family, on those she worked with and on her patients. She loved sewing and crafting and has gifted many family members, friends and benefit fund raisers with something beautiful, or practical and hand made.
Shari would ask that you be kind to each other and to the poor. Please donate to your favorite charity, or have a mass said for Shari at her parish: Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd, Tucson, AZ, 85710; or at her home parish: Immaculate Conception Parish, 203 7th Street, Elma, Iowa, 50628.
Our sympathy to the Friedhoff family.
